iLiv Detox Massage

RELAX…RESET…RENEW

Exhales loudly and deeply after a good few months of constant travel, indulging, emotions, and some hard badass training! It feels good to be home. It feels good to know that nothing is on the calendar for a while, because I am craving getting into a healthy routine work wise, but also to dive deep into wedding planning, and to be present here for a while until the next adventure.

I swear that since the holidays it has been go-go-go and I definitely have felt scatterbrained and unable to concentrate on my work projects and even the wedding. I was struggling with finding that momentum and inspiration. Every time I came back home, I was uprooted again. I love all the adventures, but I was feeling pretty depleted and was craving home, focus, and settling for a bit.

It is time to be present, because these next couple of months are going to be a whole VIBE!

One of the FIRST things that I did to start this mindset fresh was with a iLiv Detox Massage! I actually booked it while in Scottsdale, because I was craving…YES…a detox. I needed something to clear the energy, the toxins, the inflammation…ya know…ALL THE THINGS! I just felt like there was all this buildup from the past few months that needed to be pushed out and with my half marathon training in full effect, my muscles needed some love too. It was a much needed self-care moment.

This is the third time that I have done this type of detox and it is so scrumptious! I always leave feeling like I am walking on a cloud…smiling big…fully relaxed…and just all warm and fuzzy inside. It’s magical. It was necessary. I feel freaking fabulous. I am ready to do ALL THE THINGS! Have I sold you yet? If not, let me tell you how this whole experience goes…

This is a 90 minute treatment and it is absolutely divine! I’m repeating myself with the positive adjectives all over this post, but when something is this good, I just want to talk about it 24/7 and encourage others to treat themselves to something that can make a wonderful difference in your overall health.

Also, some little things to know…

  • Jenn’s space is in a small bungalow that she shares with another business partner;

  • It’s safe, comfortable, easy to get to;

  • The room itself is peaceful, quiet, and a little sanctuary to zen out;

  • You are asked to wear is a cloth thong and will be covered throughout the treatment with a robe, blankets, etc.;

Here is the step by step process:

DRY BRUSHING - This removes the top layer of dead skin and increases circulation. It is then followed by a magnesium spray that assists with muscle and joint recovery and aids in an increase of sweat while in the sauna! This process is a few minutes and is an interesting feeling. It is a weird stinging sensation followed by a cooling sensation from the magnesium spray. The spray assists with muscle and joint recovery and aids in an increase of sweat while in the sauna. Get that dead skin off please and let the new skin glow baby!

WRAP - You are then wrapped up like a little burrito in key areas where the body is inflamed and where we have lots of lymph nodes. It feels like saran wrap and is not uncomfortable or sticky at all. It feels quite comfortable and you are still able to move freely.

SAUNA - There has been so much talk lately about the health benefits of the sauna. We actually have one in our garage and I use it frequently. The benefits of the sauna are a long list of goodness, but here are a few reasons why this treatment involves the sauna. It decreases inflammation, bloating, improves appearance of skin, regulates hormones, increases circulation, increases energy and mood.

Lots of GOOD stuff! I was in the sauna for 23 minutes at 140 degrees! I love to sweat. I love the heat. (I was so excited coming back from AZ and being back into the moisture and the humidity of the yoga room. My body was screaming YES!)

MASSAGE - This massage is different from ones you have probably had in the past. I love deep tissue massages and this type of massage is perfect for my training. It is lymphatic, deep tissue, and sculpting massage which drains the remaining excess of fluid from the body and sculpts the muscle tissue. I LOVE it and I LOVE how relaxed and weirdly sore I am afterwards, as I feel like everything has been released. It is pure bliss as an athlete!

RESULTS - You should feel increased energy, decrease in bloating, and improved digestion. After traveling and my intense workouts, I felt like I was in la la land when I left Jenn. I was on a different planet and she reminded me to drink lots of water, get some sunshine, relax, and that I should feel even better the next day. And I did and I kept feeling better! I noticed a significant improvement in my stomach bloat. My body was sore, but in a good way. I knew that I needed to just listen to my body and take it easy the rest of the day. I slept like a rock that night!

COST - $250.00 for 90 minutes

You can learn more about Jenn HERE! I met Jenn through The Works a few years ago. She was actually the person who I went up to before a class and asked her about the lump on my leg. I know it's kind of random, but not really, because she knows the human body and something in my gut wanted me to ask her. And I am glad I did. She literally looked at me and said…you need to get this checked out ASAP. Make an appointment with your doctor and then go from there.

She’s a badass and I am grateful to practice with her…to know her…and to help me clear all that bad shit out of my body. It is a powerful and healing experience that y’all need to try if you are in Charleston!

If you have any questions, you know how to reach me!
