WOW…July you have been a month of a lot of really good things personally and professionally and I want this vibe to continue through the rest of the summer! Since coming back from Nantucket, there has been a lot of revelations, healing, shifts in my mindset, and crazy energy bursts telling me that I’m ready for ALL THE THINGS! When you do the work, the real stuff starts to happen and damn it feels good! Grab that cup of coffee and let’s dive in to what’s currently happening in July.

LOVING

Free People Movement Quilted Carryall - It was time to invest in a new gym bag, as the ones I have been using were pretty pathetic. This bag is just the right size, so it can hold all the things and I can take it anywhere, while still feeling stylish while walking into Whole Foods, a sweaty mess. Plus, the colors are gorgeous and it is a good price.

Mad Hippie Skin Brightening Routine - I have been neglecting my skin for awhile and I finally said enough is enough and started looking into skin care products to help bring that glowy sun kissed look back. I have tried many products, but they all were making me breakout and I would give up and just ignore the situation. TRAINING

I am craving RUNNING right now. I know it is kind of crazy as it is the middle of summer and hotter than hell, but I love the heat and I love being covered in sweat. I love how light it is outside early in the morning and when I get up and run before 7:00 AM the roads are empty and it is so peaceful. It’s a vibe that I LOVE and I am so here for. I have been running up to 8 miles outside and want to keep increasing it. I am doing a LOT of strength training and averaging about three classes a week at The Works.

INTENSE yes, but I feel good and I feel strong! I do miss my 20K steps a day, but it is hard to do that here when it’s 100 degrees and it is not fair to Lucy for both of us to endure that heat.

EATING

It’s kind of wild how my appetite and body are so different from here and Nantucket! I honestly think that being surrounded by water, the salty air, the comfort of home, and the love for that island relaxes me in a whole different way. I’m really working on bringing that peace and comfort to Charleston and it is working, but giving myself some patience and grace as I try to find that joyful balance. With that being said, my meals lately have been pretty damn good. I am being less controlling, creating more nourishing recipes, and have a plethora of new ones that I want to try.

READING

Everything and anything…I have really cut back on watching TV as there is honestly nothing worth watching! I have given up on the news and haven’t turned it on in months, so I have turned to reading, journaling and honestly it is a lot healthier and it has made me happier. Currently on my nightstand, these are all the books that are waiting to get read.

I just finished “The Maid” and LOVED IT!!! At first I was frustrated with the main character Molly and then everyone kept telling me to not give up, that it gets really good and it seems to be everyone’s favorite, so I kept going and I am so glad I did. It is a MUST READ!!!

SELF CARE

My favorite thing not only this month, but every month is self-care! It is so important to me and has become a staple in my personal and professional journey. Investing in myself and my well-being has made a HUGE HUGE HUGE difference in all aspects of my life. Some months I need a little more investing than others and when I came back from July from Nantucket, I was not in a healthy state of mind. It was pretty icky and I knew I couldn’t do it on my own, so I called Daune. It was one of the best calls that I have had with her…Why? Because I was finally ready to cut the bullshit, do the work, break the toxic cycles, and be ME and LIVE FREE! It was a huge release, a huge eye opener, and the shift has been pretty amazing.

I could dive deep into this and I am probably repeating myself, but working on yourself takes time, patience, lots of work, and sometimes money. My journey has its ups and downs, but each year I have made some major improvements and seeing that, especially after this call, it felt so damn good. My toolbox is filled with everything I need right now to help me succeed personally and professionally and I am loving that. I’m sure there will be more tools to add, but that’s okay. For right now, I’m going to enjoy this moment of how far I’ve come!
