My Costco STAPLES

It has been YEARS since I have done a Costco post! I honestly think the last time I did one was when I lived in Houston and it was called “What the Single Woman Buys at Costco!” This post actually went viral, which is kind of wild. Since I have had multiple requests to share what I buy at this mega store, well it was time to bring it BACK! Plus, I love food shopping and I LOVE Costco and I LOVE talking about food!!! And I also LOVE that there are now so many more healthier options for me to choose from. Obviously, there are still a lot of things they sell that are no bueno, but that’s okay, it’s not for me, and I just move on. Just a little FYI…When shopping not only here, but at all food stores, make sure to take a little extra time to read the labels and see what you will be putting into your body.

Back to my STAPLES…

Here are the things that I typically get almost EVERY time I go to Costco, because the price is good, the quality is good, and I can make just about every meal from these trips. Oh it is also a bonus that the Costco closest to us is 2.7 miles away from our home and it is basically brand new with a gas station and it sells wine, beer, and liquor.

NUTS

Cashews, mixed nuts, walnuts, almonds, we have got them ALL! Shannon eats a ton of cashews and I always add walnuts to his salads, meanwhile I am more of a mixed nuts kind of gal, so that bag is usually my go-to, as I love the combo of all the different nuts. It’s always a good option to have for a grab and go snack, to add to any recipes, and just to have on had. The prices are great and they typically always go on sale, so we keep an eye out for that!

AVOCADOS

The price of their avocados went down and this time they were $4.99 for 6 which is a pretty damn good deal! Shannon doesn’t eat avocados, but lately I cannot get enough of them. They are usually pretty hard when I purchase them and I will store them in the fridge right away, so they last longer and take them out one at a time to rippen. They typically last me almost 2 weeks, which is pretty awesome. I eat a 1/2 avocado with my meals. Give me all the fats please!!!

GREEK YOGURT

Huge fan of this Greek yogurt! I love the taste, texture, and that it is another great easy source of protein! 48 ounces…8 servings…18g of protein per serving! I have been eating it a lot this summer, since it’s been hot as hell. I typically do a cup of the Greek yogurt, a diced peach, and their mixed nut butter. It’s so GOOD and so EASY!

MIXED NUT BUTTER

My favorite nut butter to date! This stuff is really damn good and I use it for my yogurt bowls, smoothies, toast, and even make Lucy nut butter toast and she is a huge fan as well. It is a great price and a better deal than any Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods nut butter, plus it’s also the perfect size for me to use for a smoothie, when it is just about empty. I also love all the nuts and seeds and that there are no sneaky ingredients or added oils…BONUS!

EGGS

Easy, versatile, affordable, and a great source of protein! I eat a lot of eggs and lately after my workouts I have been using 3 eggs for my scrambles, so buying these many eggs is totally worth it. I will also make hard boiled eggs as well, for Shannon’s salads. They get used and we go through them quickly.

VEGETABLES

All the veggies please…Mushrooms, broccoli, cauliflower, tomatoes, spinach, and cucumbers! These are the ones that I always buy while there. I use them in Shannon’s salads and I love to air fry the broccoli and cauliflower, because I have a hard time digesting them when cooked another way. But these big bags of veggies usually last 2 plus weeks when I store it properly, which is a great deal!

FETA CHEESE

This is a recent purchase, because I have been craving all the feta cheese! I don’t know where this craving came from, but I’ve been putting it on my eggs, on top of grilled chicken, roasted vegetables, and even my Japanese sweet potatoes. I also like the big crumbles…It’s a nice salty touch to my meals. It’s a great price for that big box of cheese and I’m so here for it!

There are a lot of other things that we buy there, but let’s start with these first and then I can dive into other in another post. Let me know if you have any questions. Always happy to hear from you!

Happy Shopping!

xoxo
